This project began as a technical workaround: unable to run my preferred model locally, I adopted Flux as a more reliable solution within ComfyUI. What started as an illustrative workflow soon evolved into photorealistic outputs supported by refined text-prompt strategies. Using Creative Commons images of ancient relics as references, I explored how AI could reimagine cultural artifacts—ranging from organic horror masks overrun by snakes and fungi to surreal reinterpretations like a mischievous luchador devil. With Gemini Text API enhancing descriptions of materiality and lighting, the results embrace messy imperfection while adopting the polish of studio photography, blurring the boundary between authenticity and artificiality.
