A short animation inspired by Julio Cortázar’s eerie tale — a meditation on fear, memory, and space.

“Casa Tomada” reimagines Cortázar’s iconic short story through the lens of 3D animation. Rather than narrating the events directly, the piece builds a sensory experience rooted in psychological tension. Shadows creep, spaces close in, and the familiar becomes estranged — all without a single line of dialogue. The animation explores themes of domesticity, inheritance, and invisible threat, relying on atmospheric lighting and metaphorical visual language to evoke unease. It’s an abstract tribute to the uncanny power of suggestion in literature.
